Saint Luke's Health System Invests In eICU® Patient Safety Solution Breakthrough eICU® technology raises the bar on ICU care May 1st, 2003 Baltimore MD-May 1, 2003-VISICU, Inc. creator of the eICU® solution, announced today that Saint Luke's Health System in Kansas City, MO, has made a multi million-dollar investment in its eICU® solution as part of an ongoing commitment to improving patient safety. The investment makes Saint Luke's Health System the first in the region to use technology to provide physician specialists with tools that will enable them to keep an even closer eye on critical care patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The eICU® solution uses telemedicine technology plus early warning software and electronic monitoring to connect off-site critical care physician specialists known as intensivists to ICU patients. The advanced technology promises fundamental changes in hospital ICU care and bedside medication delivery.
