The suit seeks a judicial declaration that Cerner does not infringe VISICU's eICU® technology patent. VISICU was recently granted U.S. Patent No. 6,804,656 for its innovative solution that provides continuous, expert network critical care services from a remote location (the eICU solution). This technology transforms critical care and has been proven to make a profound difference in patient outcomes and lives saved. To further protect their valuable technology, VISICU has applied for additional patent rights and fully expects to have many more patents granted.
