Smart Alerts®

Smart Alerts is an automated monitoring system that uses sophisticated algorithms to continuously analyze data on all patients in the eCareManager database for potential problems. As a result of this notification system, clinicians are able to intervene sooner and prevent problems from developing. Smart Alerts also help detect treatment errors and optimize resource utilization.

Heart Rate Trend alarm is triggered when there is a defined increase in heart rate above the patient’s established baseline over a fixed time period (the baseline value is in brackets followed by the triggered alarm value).

There are three types of Smart Alerts:

Patient Status Alerts identify a change in patient status that requires prompt attention. These Smart Alerts are designed to be more sensitive than commercial alarms since they are presented to a dedicated monitoring team that can evaluate the problem and respond appropriately.
Care Issue Alerts highlight care issues that clinicians may have failed to notice or address correctly.
Process Reminder Alerts are used to notify clinicians at the point of care that a specific care process requires modification. These alerts often include hypertext links to reference material in The Source.
