Smart Alerts®
Smart Alerts is an automated monitoring system that uses sophisticated
algorithms to continuously analyze data on all patients in the eCareManager™
database for potential problems. As a result of this notification
system, clinicians are able to intervene sooner and prevent problems
from developing. Smart Alerts also help detect treatment errors
and optimize resource utilization.

| Heart Rate Trend alarm is triggered when there
is a defined increase in heart rate above the patients
established baseline over a fixed time period (the baseline
value is in brackets followed by the triggered alarm value). |
There are three types of Smart Alerts:
 |
Patient
Status Alerts identify a change in patient status that
requires prompt attention. These Smart Alerts are designed to
be more sensitive than commercial alarms since they are presented
to a dedicated monitoring team that can evaluate the problem
and respond appropriately.
 |
 |
Care
Issue Alerts highlight care issues that clinicians may
have failed to notice or address correctly.
 |
 |
Process
Reminder Alerts are used to notify clinicians at the
point of care that a specific care process requires modification.
These alerts often include hypertext links to reference material
in The Source.
